Archipelago of the Maddalena

The archipelago of the Maddalena is a group of islands north east of Sardinia, visible from the Costa Smeralda. The most important are La Maddalena, Caprera (where Garibaldi lived during exile), Santo Stefano (a former US Submarine base), Budelli (with its famous pink beach and natural pools),  Santa Maria, Razzoli, Spargi. These islands can be visited by ferry, offering different itineraries up to full days with 3-4 stops.
