Visit to a farm in San Gimignano where some varieties of wine are produced such as Vernaccia di San Gimignano, the native vine par excellence, Sangiovese for the famous Chianti, Canaiaolo, Colorino,
Malvasia and Trebbiano for the traditional Vinsanto.
In addition, forage and mixed cereals are grown such as durum wheat, spelled, barley, sunflower, oats and maize from which the delicious durum wheat semolina and spelled pasta are made.
Scattered around the property, you can admire the 1500 olive trees of the principal Tuscan varieties, such as Moraiolo, Leccino and Frantoiano which produce the excellent extra virgin olive oil. The vegetable garden and orchard, which offer organic vegetables and the “gold of San Gimignano”: saffron!
The bees that produce wildflower honey, rabbits, chickens, guinea fowl, local pigs and Cinta Senese pigs are also raised on the farm. The main breeding is that of CHIANINA BREED cattle, one of the oldest in the rural world, and today unfortunately in danger of extinction.
There are many proposals for visits, tastings and educational visits.
