Parmigiano Reggiano is a very famous Northern Italian hard cheese, protected by its designation of origin (DOP) and considered the most important in its category, together with Grana Padano. The origins of this cheese date back to the Middle Ages, placed around the XII century. The visit to the dairy starts at 8am and lasts around 2 hours. During that time, groups can witness all production phases of the Parmigiano Reggiano, from separating the milk, to shaping and the traditional pinning. At the end of the visit it will be possible to buy some cheese.
