The Tasting and Making of Pesto

Pesto is a typical Ligurian condiment. Its base ingredients are Genoa basil, pine nuts and garlic, seasoned with parmesan (and/or pecorino, depending on local custom) and extra virgin olive oil.

This manufacturer has been producing pesto since 1976, still made nowadays with all the ingredients of the old Ligurian tradition. The first sensation will be the aromas of Vessalico’s garlic and Pra’s basil, followed by tasting the finest pine nuts from Pisa and the marvellous mountain Parmigiano Reggiano. All these flavours are joined together by sublime extravirgin olive oil from Liguria. It will also be possible to try to prepare the world’s oldest and most known condiment.
